3. The beginning of the Jagadhatri Puja
in Chandannagar dates back earlier before Krishnanagar.
4. The number of community pujas in
Chandannagar (106), Bhadreswar and Champdani Municipality areas(36) this
year will cross 142 mark.
5. One of the salient features of the
puja is that massive images of goddess Jagadhatri are modelled maximum height 22 ft.
6. The decoration of images and
chalchitra is done mostly with pith (Shola), dazzling chumkis and brilliantly coloured
papermade articles.
7. Elaborate police arrangements are
being made to control the huge influx of revelers from different parts of West Bengal and
neighbouring states. A special control room is opened in Chandannagar Police Station. (Tel

8. Eastern Railway runs special trains to
manage the heavy rush of passengers.
