Climate Seasoned monsoon winds essentially make the climate. November to February (North-east monsoon) is considered winter. March to May (pre-monsoon) is summer. June to October (South-west monsoon) is the rainy season. Currency The official monetary unit of Thailand is the BAHT which is divided into 100 Satang. There are coins of 25 and 50 Satang and one and five Baht. Notes are in denomination of five, ten, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1000 Baht.

The Thai are independent yet
friendly people. The country grew through a history of wars with neighbours, interspersed
with periods economic and artistic development and great prosperity. Thailand was never
colonised by any European power, the only Asian country to be able to make that claim.
‘THAI’ means free. The culture of the country is a unique blend of Indian and
other Asian influences. It is a richly rewarding tourism destination.
